Julian’s diverse career in retail and technology began in 1996 with the founding team of Transwitch Services, which focused on providing an electronic funds transfer mechanism solely for the retailer Pick n Pay. The business grew rapidly through various acquisitions to become one of South Africa’s leading electronic funds transfer and bill payment services businesses (EasyPay Pty Ltd).
During his 11 years with EasyPay, Julian was involved with a number of projects to enhance the customer experiences, including: managing EFT operating system roll-out to British Petroleum; managing and supporting payment device integrations between banks and retailers such as Spar; as well as point of sale integrations with petroleum company Total SA.
Later, Julian took on the role of Account Manager, looking after the Pick n Pay account whereby his focus was on building that relationship, and co-ordinating various internal and external projects for implementation through the EasyPay range of value-added services.
In 2007, Julian moved to UCS Software, where he worked as a Service Delivery Manager - managing the service level agreement on day to day tasks, as well as driving process improvement. Notably, Julian worked with retailers Moresport Group (Sportsman’s Warehouse and Outdoor Warehouse) as well as Franco Ceccato.
Julian joined the dynamic redPanda Software team in 2009 as Service Delivery Manager, looking after the largest furniture retailer (the Lewis Group), before moving into his current role of Sales and Marketing - with a focus on solving retailer challenges by introducing agile software solutions and deepening customer partnerships for long-term success.
